Actions of CERT members during an evacuation or shelter-in-place
During an emergency, the IC will contact CECOMS and request activation of the EAS. The Incident Commander will also be coordinating the actions of CERT teams.
Depending on the type of evacuation or SIP incident, CERT members may be asked to:
Direct traffic away from the hazard- assist people with evacuation on foot
- Help people prepare to SIP
- Calm frightened individuals
- Deliver supplies
- Document the missing, and so on.
